I thought the games we pretty good but just cutting it like NES or SNES .. but I do want to get a wii..Parasitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10212047252755197600noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7046660673368965992.post-72647109095664626182007-03-31T21:20:00.000-07:002007-03-31T21:20:00.000-07:00Those groups are usually mutually exclusive, thoug...Those groups are usually mutually exclusive, though I wonder if the girls you saw might be gap-bridgers at least to an extent considering they were in EB to begin with. The Wii definitely attracts viewers of all gaming backgrounds, even if they don't play.

We talked a little bit at GDC about the potential of web content being played through the Wii, and I definitely think it's a viable possibility for the mainstream. I hope so, anyway, because I would love it.Caithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00565990755298301230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7046660673368965992.post-53768579764513302092007-03-28T16:56:00.000-07:002007-03-28T16:56:00.000-07:00Yeah, preaching Ayiti, thats what I like to see. I...Yeah, preaching Ayiti, thats what I like to see.

I had a similar realization about the Wii's potential on Black Friday. I was testing out Exite Truck at the EB and two teenage girls were watching with a terse curiousity. One was talking about it over her cellphone. These were definetly your future sorority girl type girls, not your Otakon cosplayer type girls, not that those two groups are mutually exclusive.

Now the real question is, will third party content be made targeting these new audience segments? I'm not seeing a whole lot coming down the AAA pipeline, but I really think we'll be seeing some suprises on the download side. I'm also interested, but skeptical, in the potential of web content being accessed through the Wii, through broadband penetration pwns Wii penetration by a few orders of magnitude, so thats irrelevant for now. For now. I'm definetly taking seriously the potential of people preferentially playing web-games on the Wii.Patrickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13614962832390315553noreply@blogger.com
